German peace conditions to Russia: Poland, Baltic Provinces, Lithuania, Ukraine, and Finland to be surrendered; army to be demobilized, and warships, including those of Entente, to be disarmed or interned; the Russo-German Commercial Treaty of 1904 to be resumed; German forces 50 miles nearer Petrograd and 60 miles from Reval; Hapsal and Minsk occupied. Turks reconquering Armenia; 50 miles behind the former Russian front.

Fighting in the Gulf of Riga; Germans having forced Irben Strait, the southern entrance, press Russian naval forces back to Moon Sound with loss of Russian battleship, Slava; two enemy trawlers destroyed by fire, and two torpedo-boats blown up in Russian minefield. Two British destroyers, Mary Rose and Strongbow, convoying 12 Scandinavian merchantmen, attacked by two fast and heavily armed German raiders between Shetland and Norwegian coast and sunk with nine of the escorted vessels; 88 lost on the Mary Rose and 47 on the Strongbow. American transport, Antilles, homeward bound, torpedoed and sunk; 67 out of 167 on board lost.

American destroyer torpedoed but reaches port; one killed and five wounded. Mr. Bonar Law announces a Bill to be introduced to constitute an air Ministry.
