British attack south-east of Arras; Hénin-sur-Cojeul taken, and Maissemy further south. French progress between La Fère and St. Quentin; Dallon, Giffecourt, and Cerizy taken. Germans win a bridgehead at Tolby on the Stokhod, and take many Russian prisoners.

German attacks at Fleury repulsed. Russian advance on the Stokhod; Tobol occupied. Bulgarians and Serbs fighting at Florina.

Fighting on the Stokhod; Russians win the river crossings at Svidinki. Fighting at Sanna-i-Yat on the Tigris. Four British drifters surprised by Austrian cruisers in the Adriatic; two sunk. German submarine Deutschland, purporting to be a merchantman, arrives at Baltimore from Bremen with mails and cargo.

Order in Council published rescinding Declaration of London and orders arising therefrom. Text of Russo-Japanese agreement published.
